In life, we often find ourselves facing challenging circumstances that cause "survival mode." In survival mode, we become so consumed with highly stressful situations that we barely make it through each day. This prevents us from experiencing the full and abundant life that God promised us, whether we're dealing with financial struggles, health issues, relationship problems, or the pressures of everyday life.

Unexpected events push us into mental anxiety, defeated thoughts, feeling scared, upset, depressed, and unsure of the future. We can overcome our fears and find peace by trusting in God despite our challenges. Meditate on Psalm 46:1. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." The scripture lets us know that God is our shelter and source of strength and is always with us to guide us through difficult times. By placing our trust in God, we can find hope and comfort in knowing that God is dependable and will provide our every need.

When experiencing survival mode, we must shift our focus to God as He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). It is vital to seek God's wisdom before making impulsive decisions or relying solely on our own understanding. The Bible encourages us to seek God's guidance in all situations (Proverbs 3:5-6). "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

To eradicate survival mode, we must learn to worship God. Having a heart posture of worship can bring God into our situations. It's vertical; it's personal. It is strictly between you and God. By worshipping God, we extend an invitation for Him to be present in our circumstances. Adding praise to worship expresses gratitude for God's work and removes fear, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and defeated thoughts, giving a breakthrough to live abundantly from day to day.

Prayer: God, as we cultivate an attitude of gratitude continually. We will not focus on lack. We will meditate on Your word, even when facing difficult times, and we will hold fast in knowing Your joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We will forever give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We will continually be intentional when cultivating an attitude of gratitude. We acknowledge we are blessed, and every blessing opens our eyes to greater blessings in Jesus’ name.
